Pace of Play

IT IS IMPORTANT THAT ALL MEMBERS PLAY READY GOLF  BOTH ON THE FAIRWAYS AND ON THE PUTTING GREENS

Pace of play is frequently an issue.  There are some simple rules to always keep in mind and additional hints to keep pace of play moving.

It is expected that an 18-hole round at the course be completed in 4 hours and 15 minutes.

Simple Rules:

  • Don’t rush just be ready
  • Always keep up with the group in front
  • No “Honours” (Except in Match Play) – the first player ready,  plays…
  • Keep pre-shot routines short…
  • Aim for 30 seconds max per shot…
  • Forget the furthest away – if you are ready then play… this applies to fairways and putting greens…
  • Hit your ball before helping search for one…
  • Plan your shot or putt before you get to your ball…
  • Park bags & carts on route to the next tee…
  • Putt when ready…again – no waiting or honors except in match play
  • Putt out if you are not on someone’s line…
  • Mark your card at the next tee box…
  • If you can’t score – pick up and move on…
