Pace of Play

Pace of play is an important part of ensuring an enjoyable experience for all members. A steady pace allows everyone to play comfortably and helps maintain the flow of the course.

Members are expected to play ready golf at all times—both on the fairways and on the putting greens.

Target Pace: An 18-hole round should be completed in approximately 4 hours and 16 minutes

Key Principles

  • Don’t rush—just be ready to play
  • Keep up with the group in front
  • Play when ready (no “honors,” except in match play)
  • Keep pre-shot routines short (aim for 30 seconds per shot)

On the Fairway

  • If you’re ready, play—even if you are not the furthest from the hole
  • Plan your shot while approaching your ball
  • Play your shot before assisting in searching for a lost ball
  • Position carts and bags in a way that allows a quick move to the next tee

On the Putting Green

  • Putt when ready—do not wait for honors (except in match play)
  • Putt out when you are not on another player’s line
  • Keep movement efficient and be aware of others preparing to putt

Keep Things Moving

  • Mark your scorecard at the next tee
  • If you are unable to score on a hole, please pick up and move on
  • Always be aware of your position relative to the group ahead

A good pace of play ensures everyone enjoys their round—thank you for your cooperation.

Course marshals may assist in maintaining pace of play where required.
