Ladies Leagues

  • League play generally begins the week of May 1 and wraps up mid September.
  • Tee times for member's leagues can be booked up to 10 days in advance on Tee-On.   Unused League times are made available to the rest of the club 7 days in advance.
  • Please Note:  If the league is scheduled to start on separate nines, there will be 2 tabs for tee times. Be sure to check out the times and sign up for any that you may find suitable. Or, phone the pro shop to get a tee time.

A few items to improve your online experience:

  • Show your name in Leagues.  Opt in to receive confirmation emails and show your name on league bookings. These options are found under 'Preferences' in your account.
  • Set your playing partners - check-in is sped up if all members names are entered in the tee sheet. This also allows all members to use the self check-in station. Playing partners is found under 'My Account' in your booking profile.
  • Go to my account then to preferences. Scroll down and make sure there is a “check mark” in the box that says Show name in league" . This will let your playing partners know who you are and speed up checking in.

2024 Ladies Leagues

League play begins the week of May 6 and wraps up in September. Event sign up will be on-line and via Tee-On in the Elbow Springs App. League times will be open 10 days in advance for booking.

Play Times for Ladies Section Members Only:

Tuesday Day Ladies –Tee times starting around 9am. Games and prizes. Coffee socials to enjoy
Thursday Eagles - Tee times starting around 9am
Thursday 9 & Dine – Evening tee times starting around 5pm followed by dinner in the Club House
Saturday Business Ladies – Enjoy an early tee time starting around 8 am.

Cost to be a Member in the Ladies Leagues: 

Fee:  $50 fee

  • There is a nominal charge for playing in the Ladies Section. This fee will be used for:
    • Subsidizing the cost of the Ladies Wind up scheduled for September.
    • Prize money for the Tuesday Day Ladies and Thursday 9 & Dine games for those who wish to participate (only those who have signed up will be eligible to win)
  • Please authorize us to charge your account by emailing the following person to arrange for payment.

Tuesday / Thursday Day Ladies Leagues:

  • Tuesday Day Ladies enjoys some very simple games that will encourage a fun round of golf. Participation is optional, but there will be prizes for those who do join in. An email will be sent out every Monday explaining the game and the instructions for calculating the points. Completed game cards are placed in an envelope on the bulletin board of the ladies locker room. The first $25 prize will be awarded to the winner of the game and a second $25 prize will be awarded to a randomly chosen participant of the game. The prize/coupon can be picked up in the pro shop. They can be used in the pro shop or the restaurant at Elbow Springs.
  • There will be three social times for anyone interested in staying after their round of golf. The dates are tentatively set for May 21, June 25 and August 6. This will consist of coffee and cookies or muffins in the springs room. Everyone is welcome to attend and can drop in after their round of golf.
  • Thursday’s Eagles has an 18-hole playing format. There are no games.

Thursday 9 & Dine/ Saturday Business Ladies Leagues:

  • Continue the weeks play! While the name says “Business Ladies” all Ladies Section members are welcome to play.
  • Thursday night is 9 holes only followed by dinner in the Clubhouse.
  • Saturday is 18 holes with an earlier morning start.

Interclub Play for All Lady Members of Elbow Springs

***The following Leagues are open to ALL ladies of Elbow Spring, irrespective of joining the Ladies Section. They are scheduled by the Calgary Ladies Golf Association (CLGA) and coordinated through Elbow Springs.***

 

CHAMPS

  • CHAMPS stands for Calgary Hospitality and Match Play Section. It consists of fun & minimally competitive matches among other courses in our section. Four players represent each course- two A players and two B players. A players have a 0-20.1 handicap and B players have a 20.2-35.2 handicap.
  • This season we will host 5 HOME matches @Elbow Springs, and 5 AWAY matches @ Turner Valley, Shaganappi, Sirocco, Glencoe, and Redwood Meadows. Most matches are played on Mondays, with the exception of one. CHAMPS matches begin Monday, June 3rd and continues until Monday, August 26th. There will be a windup in mid-September, location & date TBD.
  • Tee times are always in the morning, with lunch to follow. There is no charge to play CHAMPS matches, both home and away. The only charge would be for a power/pull cart (if needed), lunch and the windup at the end of season.
  • Sign-up sheets will be posted on a google doc spreadsheet and there will be additional information on the corkboard outside the Ladies locker room.

INTERCLUB

  • DAY LADIES INTER-CLUB 2024 (DLIC 2024) DLIC participating Clubs are: Elbow Springs, Lynx Ridge, Pinebrook, Canmore and Silver Springs. Day Ladies Inter-Club is a friendly competition involving as many different players as possible.
  • Format: Stableford. Each team consists of 2 A players (0 to 20.1) and 2 B players (20.2 to max 35.8). You must have an established handicap factor. Your points are based on your net on each hole.
  • Net Bogey – 1 point; Net Par – 2 points; Net Birdie – 3 points; Net Eagle – 4 points; Net Albatross (or hole in one) – 5 points. For speed of play, once you are not scoring a point you must pick up your ball.
  • Note that 18” Gimmee putts are allowed.
  • Our first matches are May 22nd at Canmore starting at 10:00.

BUSINESS LADIES INTERCLUB

  • The participating Clubs are: Elbow Springs, Country Hills, Winston, The Hamptons, Inglewood and everyone is quite excited for the season to begin.
  • This year we will be playing each club twice, 1 away game and 1 home game.
  • Our first match is May 11th at Elbow Springs.

  • It is our intention to have as many Ladies participate as possible.
  • You must have a registered handicap, not greater than 36 at the designated golf course. Indicate your Handicap Factor on the sign-up sheet. Handicaps will be frozen on the Tuesday prior to the match, please make sure you have entered all your scores as these can be audited.
  • Format is Net Best Ball between the partners. As we get closer to your match, rules and tee times will be forwarded to you. Players are encouraged to stay for lunch, dinner, snacks, or drinks and are responsible to pay their own way. A fun day for golf, sometimes at a different club, meeting players from those clubs with a sprinkle of competition thrown in.
  • Team members will be notified at least 11-12 days before the matches so you can plan your own games if you are not competing that day.
  • NB:  If you wish to be considered to play at an “away” course, please commit to playing 1 match at Elbow Springs.
